Spotlight Supporter: Mexicana Airlines

Mexicana Airlines Foundation (Fundación Mexicana de Aviación) provides funding for many services and programs for children and adults including medical treatment, counseling, therapeutic resources for disabilities, scholarships for special schools and elderly aid programs throughout Mexico.
 
Since 2000, Mexicana Airlines Foundation has been providing UCP Wheels for Humanity air cargo space to transport wheelchairs and ambulatory aid within Mexico, as well as airline tickets for our volunteers.
 
Manuel Werner, the Director-General of the Foundation has been a strong supporter of our mission and part of the UCP Wheels family for the last eight years. In April, Werner and the Foundation made a commitment to sponsor 1,000 wheelchairs to be distributed in Mexico this year.
 
Werner will allocate the wheelchairs to those most in need as identified by the foundation through disability agencies such as  Fundación Teletón México, APAC (Asociación pro personas con parálisis cerebral) and through DIF (el Desarrollo Integral de la Familia – Mexico’s family services agency). UCP Wheels will handle the logistics and send volunteer teams down to manage the distributions and seating clinics.
